Biostatistics, Epidemiology And Data Management (BEAD) Core

Overview of Services  

The mission of the BEAD Core is to provide research support services that strengthen and expand the research of Johns Hopkins University faculty so that we remain one of the top interdisciplinary research institutions focused on improving the health and well-being of individuals, families and the communities they live in.

Our services are available to faculty of all levels across JHMI as well as fellows. Researchers with faculty appointments on the Bayview campus or within the department of Pediatrics and the department of Medicine receive 20 free hours of research support services from the BEAD Core.

Services include, but are not limited to:

- Epidemiologic study design and approach

- Basic and complex statistical analyses

- Power and sample size calculations

- Database development and management services

- Survey measurement and sampling

- Qualitative methods support

- Manuscript preparation and grant review

- Assistance with Epic data extractions

- Assistance with Analyses involving the Precision Medicine Analytics Platform (PMAP)
