Please be aware that as of 8/3/2024 the URL for the Johns Hopkins University iLab website has changed to https://johnshopkins.ilab.agilent.com. The temporary URL re-direct will expire on 11/9/24. The Johns Hopkins Biostatistics Center (JHBC) provides the latest in biostatistical and information science expertise to a wide range of clients in the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions and beyond. We consult to health researchers at other academic health centers, pharmaceutical companies, medical research organizations, managed care organizations and government agencies. We provide a wide range of services and guidance; examples of our collaborative efforts can be found in our Center Bibliography.// Our team is comprised of Masters and PhD level statisticians and computer scientists from the Johns Hopkins Department of Biostatistics and affiliated faculty from other quantitative departments. There are also opportunities for students to be involved in the Center, with training in consulting processes, biostatistical methods, and substantive areas. Genomic Analysis and Sequencing Core Facility

"RNA and DNA purification and quality assessment, Gene expression profiling and SNP analysis by microarray (Affymetrix and Agilent) and qPCR, Next-Gen Sequencing on Roche 454 FLX+ and Junior platforms (genomic DNA, targeted amplicon, Metagenomic, Exome, etc), Microbiome (16s and Metagenomic) profiling on Illumina MiSeq (in collaboration with JHMI Seq & Synthesis Core), including DNA extraction and library preparation, RNA-Seq Library prep for Illumina HiSeq (in collaboration with JHMI GRCF), Other Next-Gen Sequencing library preparation, including Sequence Capture (Agilent/NimbleGen), Protocol adaptation and development,
The JHBR Service Center provides, on a fee-for-service basis, a wide range of services including, but not limited to, phlebotomy, blood and other body fluid collection, specimen fractionation and processing, testing, storage, as well as DNA isolation, quantification, and concentration normalization.
More than 40 studies are currently using JHBR services. Biological specimen deliveries are accepted 5 days per week, excluding University Holidays. National and local delivery services including FedEx priority overnight shipping and World Courier International Shipping can be coordinated to suit individual needs and the rates for services are often 25 percent lower than commercial biological services.
JHBR is ready to provide a one-stop shop for conducting research and clinical studies involving biological speciman collection, processing, storing and testing services.
